Glass Painting – 7 Big Mistakes
Tips, techniques and other useful things
The normal way is, “Sign up for this free newsletter and in exchange I’ll send you this useful report”. But you know what? I don’t like this way of doing things. So be my guest and download this free guide: it explains 7 big mistakes which once I made myself and which I still see others making. If you find it useful, then sign up for our free e-mail newsletter. Because when you do, then once or twice a week, I’ll send you a useful tip or technique, or maybe a link to a painting demo I made. I promise you one thing: I won’t waste your time. Everything’ll be about kiln-fired glass painting.
See the next column where you just type your name and email address – that’s how you get the tips and techniques.
So be my guest and download this guide right now – I don’t want your e-mail “in return”. It’s your choice here. If the guide makes sense to you, then sign up for the newsletter and you’ll get lots more like that. Once or maybe twice a week. If you decide not to sign up, you just won’t get those tips and techniques.
A couple of things. One. The newsletter is all about kiln-fired glass painting – the techniques, the tools, the materials etc. But nothing about glass paints which don’t need firing. Nothing. Those paints aren’t my area of expertise. Whereas I do know a lot about real / traditional stained glass painting. (And what I know is absolutely practical – this is a busy and successful studio I run with David.) So real glass painting, fired in a kiln, that’s what this newsletter is all about. Two. No quick fixes. If someone expects miracles – say they know zilch about glass painting but have agreed to re-do their local church – this newsletter can’t help. No way. But what I can do is work with you a little bit each week and over three months, six months, a year – you’ll see a huge difference.
“Thanks for your newsletters – I find them very useful” (Rosemary Ishkanian, British Columbia, Canada)

“I fell in love with glass painting and bought all the best stuff from all the best people and books and videos from all the best artists and I learned … not a lot! It still seemed shrouded in mystery. And then I found you! Yes, it’s not easy. Yes, it requires practice. But hey! At least there’s SOMEBODY out there who is willing to point me in the right direction” (Pat Kenderdine, Pretoria, South Africa)
“I just wanted you to know you are appreciated and you have an impact on the lives of a lot of us” (Jeannette, Gulfport, Mississippi, USA)
“I so enjoy getting your subtle details about designing and making stained glass. These are the details which make the difference between a standard work and a fine one” (Enrique, Rota, Spain)

Flashes of insight and inspiration
This free newsletter is the only way you get the flashes of insight and inspiration which you just won’t find in a standard book or magazine article. For example, why and how you should shape your tracing brush like a rolled-up umbrella:
See “Helpful Idea No. 2″ in the series
And also: How to prepare yourself for glass painting when it’s been a while since you’ve done any:
See “Helpful Idea No. 8″ in the series
Every week or so, you get your own copy of this free newsletter. Some newsletters are short, some are long. Some have close-up photographs of essential techniques. Others have links to exclusive online video demonstrations. This way, over the coming weeks and months, you will gain a deeper understanding of the glass painter’s method. And you’ll also get to explore other techniques as well:
See “Helpful Idea No. 13″ in the series where you watch demonstration of “over”-soldering
Also “Helpful Idea No. 14″ where you see how to apply gold leaf to lead
And certainly I respect your privacy. I will never sell or give your contact details to anyone else. I will only write to you in utmost good faith with information that is genuinely interesting to you as a stained glass painter like tips to solve problems with your paint and palette. Or: techniques for how best to load, shape and care for brushes. Or: exclusive video demonstrations.
